Told Slant is the songwriting project of Felix Walworth, Brooklyn based lyricist, producer, and founding member of The Epoch arts collective. Walworth started the project in 2011 as a means of marking a stylistic shift in their songwriting, specifically a shift toward understated, ambling arrangements and simple, illustrative lyrics.
Told Slant’s debut LP, Still Water, was self-released in 2012, then re-released and pressed to vinyl by Broken World Media in 2014. The band is scheduled to release their next full-length record, Going By, with Double Double Whammy in the summer of 2016.
gobbinjr (lower case please) is Madison, WI-native turned lil nyc bb Emma Jerk Witmer’s unapologetic new project. Her debut album 'manalang' (again, leave your caps at home) is the blunt, peachy child of Witmer’s angsty yet sophisticated approach, creating a bedroom-panorama of earwormy, hazy melodies. While a fair amount of music relies on the spark of collaboration, gobbinjr explores the simplicity of a one-mind/one-voice songwriting process. Witmer keeps to herself, thus she kept her album to herself… writing and recording every single detail of it. The result is one individual's unfiltered, unfettered statement, something so ethereal it nearly transports you into Witmer's own daydreamy world.
Small Wonder is the brainchild of Brooklyn, NY native, Henry Crawford. It began as an outlet for creating more electronic based music but has since evolved into Crawford's principle moniker for any and all material.
Fits is a Brooklyn four-piece that combines punky spaz-pop, droning loops and hooky melodies into a heartfelt, dizzying power-pop romp.
